很多相信科学的人知道，人类的碳排量正在造成大气变暖。这种气候变化对我们和地球上其他生物来说是很危险的。政府、公司以及非政府组织正在努力减少碳排放，对所谓的“碳交易”他们的意见基本一致，“碳交易”是一种环境有效且经济合理的减排方案。

一项名为“限制与交易”的政策，“限制”就是监管部门对碳排量设置一定限制，随着时间推移，减少对大气层的污染物排放；“交易”就是市场对减排的补贴，从
而帮助公司及其他组织符合减排限制标准。环境保护基金会的人表示：“他们排放量越少，付的钱就越少，这样就能从经济效益上来减少污染物排放”。61
如今欧盟发达国家们已经开始了基于上述碳排放政策的交易。而加利福尼亚、安大略以及魁北克也达成了
《蒙特利尔协定》，来呼吁发动全球交易。国家各级官员（包括国家、州和市）与企业层面可以通过限制与交易信贷积分制，来平衡补贴。同时，基于区块链的声誉
系统，也可以根据可持续温室气体减排标准，为电网供电商进行评级。比如，系统可以为能源来源分配标签，用煤炭的会减少额度，用太阳能等可再生能源的就增加
额度。区块链能够在整个行业中，实现限制与交易系统的自动化。高效的定价算法会实时计算借贷情况，然后绿色组织就能在账本上查找并追踪到其碳排放额度情
况，然后将其转化成一笔交易。
那么要是我们为普通人也创建一个碳排放限制与交易系统，会怎么样呢？
我们当然希望除了机构，其他人都能改变他们的行为！个人碳排放交易将会通过物联网实现。传感器、检测器以及探测仪会实时测量你的热水器、洗碗机以及家用恒
温器，并且告知你的碳排放信贷额度。同时，你也可以通过可持续的实践活动来挣取信贷额度。如果你在屋顶加了一排太阳能板，那么你就能通过对电网发电来获得
额度。
这种方式可以为人们创造出一个新的年收入来源吗？实际上，穷人和无家可归的人才算是低碳用
户。骑车上班可以省下你家热水器可能花掉的额度：“洗碗机你好，我的个人额度与交易手表显示出我们可以负担一次整体清洁及30分钟周期烘干的操作。”。洗
衣机里的水感应器可以根据可接受的颗粒浓度水平，来管理水使用情况；衣服湿度达到可接受水平时，烘干机里的湿度感应器就可以关掉烘干机；然后房子里的空调
系统还可以利用多余的热量。
